It's a misconception that starting workouts a young age stunts progress. When you are young there's a lot of free testosterone, which increases with age. Testosterone in a male keeps increasing till the age of 25 after the age of 25 the levels of testosterone start decreasing with age. Growth hormone also increases as age passes. Growth hormone stabilizes at a certain age and then decreases. When growth hormone keeps increasing, there's a higher possibility of increasing your muscle mass. When a person starts weight lifting there is increase of testosterone and growth hormone which results in even greater muscle and overall growth development.
