Opioid addiction can strike anyone of any age. Not sure if your loved one is suffering from the condition and going to great pains to conceal it from you? Then read through the following signs so you’d know what to look for:
Changes in mood:
Is your loved one showing signs of psychological disturbance? Does he suffer from anxiety attacks, wild behavioral swings and even psychotic episodes?
Behavioral signs:
Is he spending a lot of time on obtaining and recovering from the drug? Is he abandoning activities he used to love, whether at work or school? All these are possible signs that you’re dealing with opioid addiction.
Physical symptoms:
Greater sexual arousal, sleeping problems and great physical agitation are also signs of the condition. These also include hypervigilance and overarousal.
So be on the lookout for any of these signs. If you see any of these signs happening, don’t try to dismiss them out of hand. And if you think your loved one needs help, don’t hesitate to contact a doctor for addiction therapy help and services.
